The best sushi in the Durham Region! The ingredients are always fresh and the prices are amazing for the quality you get. This has always been my go-to sushi spot in Pickering, for the last 10+ years. The staff is incredibly warm and consistently provides exceptional service. We will truly miss Yuna and the entire incredible team.

Sakura Sushi in Pickering is widely praised as a hidden gem offering high-quality, fresh ingredients that distinguish it from local all-you-can-eat venues. Customers consistently highlight the excellent, attentive service and generous portion sizes. Key Takeaways: Exceptional Quality: The sushi and sashimi are fresh and meticulously prepared, making it a go-to for serious sushi enthusiasts in the Durham region. Must-Try Dishes: Don't miss the Spicy Salmon Roll, the signature Sakura Roll, or the highly recommended Kimchi Fried Rice. Service Note: While the food and staff are fantastic, the dine-in experience sometimes includes an unusual counter-ordering and payment process. Overall: Highly recommended if you prioritize superior freshness and quality over quantity.

My first time trying Sakura Sushi and it has to be one of the best sushi restaurants that I've had. Small family run restaurant that is worth checking out and I for one will be heading back.

We got a few rolls for takeout and it was prepared quickly and was so delicious and fresh. So happy to have a good sushi spot nearby!!! We didnt dine in so I cant say much about the service. Looking forward to eating from here again!

Stuck in COVID times?!?! It was the strangest DINE IN experience ever being served piping hot udon soup in a plastic takeout bowl with plastic cutlery, and the smallest bento meal in a plastic divided tray. For a person who is very concerned with avoiding toxins, eating hot soup out of a plastic bowl is concerning!!! The only actual real dishes were the melamine shaped dishes to hold the soy and wasabi. To be fair, there were signs that stated you have to bring your dishes to the back when finished but we did not imagine we would get a food court experience. My udon soup was super bland and flavourless however the only saving grace were the chewy udon noodles; they weren’t overcooked. The beef in the soup was bland so I only ate one bite and gave the rest to my husband. The spicy maki rolls were just okay. However I did hear a loyal takeout customer say “I love your food!” To each his own—having recently come back from Tokyo, this was not the case for us sadly. In all fairness, the staff are very friendly and respectful. A nice young man did bring the food to our tables but that was it. We noticed there were many locals picking up takeout so we’re glad they can keep their business afloat with takeout but there is much room for improvement for the dine in experience. Please readjust your dine in practices to post COVID times by tweaking the flavour and serving size portions of your entrees. We wish your business well.

First time try Sakura at 1550 Kingston Rd #3, Pickering and very disappointed with their service attitude. I have ordered shuhi and sashimi maki party tray the website showed price is 22 and when I order in the restaurant they said was 25 the price is updated on website. Today I have checked again the price also is22 I took picture can be provided. The point is not the price just 3 dollars but disappointing the cashier lady and the man stand beside her very very bad attitude . When I said Happy new year to him. He didn’t even say anything and he showed back face to me.

Had Sakura for the second time last night. First time it was really great, which is what brought us back for this second order. Pickering doesn’t have the best sushi options so we wanted Sakura to be our go to spot when we’re home. The second order wasn’t as great and a whole roll of ours had black/spoiled avocado in every piece of the roll. Everyone who ate the tray felt sick the whole rest of the night and uneasy the next day. We understand that avocado can be eaten at many levels of browning, but, if im paying $85 for small pieces of it, I’d love for it to be fresh and green. If they let this go in the rolls, what else are they getting away with?

Best. Sushi. In. Durham. No bull. If all you eat is the all you can eat variety. Please go here and taste real sushi.

Great service and the quality of sushi is amazing! After trying this place we will never set foot in the local all you can eat sushi places. This place makes each piece with care and the owner and server come check on you. Prices are also very good. We ordered a boat of sushi + sushimi. Highly recommend it if your in Durham area!

Do not. I repeat do not eat here. Go to sakada on whites Rd. It is a much better and cheaper version of this small dinky restaurant. This restaurant is so crammed and small and the tables are very sticky. Do not recommend whatsoever.

The service here is phenomenal; theyre polite and attentive, and when you ask for something you can bet itll be on your table very quickly. The food came out very quickly, but before that you are given a small sampler with kimchi, sweet potato noodles (these are delicious!), and deep fried rice balls. The atmosphere is very nice with calming music and nice decor. Always a good experience!Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the teriyaki sauce for the chicken was much too salty for my taste, and the tempura breading wasnt great. But the sushi definitely made up for it!

Absolute Best! Best quality sashimi and rolls. My wife, the non-fish eater, was happy with her selections too. And the gent who was serving us was excellent. We'll be back.
