This store is located inside the Loblaws, by the checkout counters. The service was excellent. The Gentleman who served me was kind and patient as I tried a few watches on and was understanding when I declined to buy a watch. The store itself is quite small but has a decent selection of watches.
Very disappointed with watch battery replacement experience. Watch wasn't working, assumed it was the battery, brought it here to have it replaced (they charged $13+tx). Watch still didn't work properly. Brought it to point of purchase where it was explained that this watch takes a special battery (the watch is solar powered, and takes a capacitor $60+tx. It was explained that the original should still be fine, just needs some time in the sun to charge) - when they opened the watch, the place for the capacitor was empty. Returned to Garo, but when confronted they denied responsibility.
I have had nothing but excellent experiences when visiting this store. Fair prices and great service. Would recommend to a friend.
Had a battery replacement for my watch couple weeks ago. After having the battery replaced I noticed immediately there were scratch marks confined to one particular area of the watch that were not there before. The area with the scratch marks looked as if it was scraped against a hard surface. I questioned how the battery was changed and was told the face of the watch was placed against the palm of the hand. I really must have been fooling myself into thinking this guy would actually admit that he scratched my watch. Now I really understand why he was so nice in offering me a $3 discount at time of payment...I believe it was just to distract me into not noticing the scratch marks that had occurred during the battery replacement. How sad is that??
Tried to contact them through their website (has a form instead of a direct email) about their watch repair services but did not get a response. They are located within the Loblaws by the east entrance and unfortunately one of the few places listed in Pickering offering watch repair. I think Hudson's Bay has services still if you need alternatives.
