I stopped by Rocky Mountain Chocolate in Pickering and it was such a great experience. The shop is clean, welcoming, and has that amazing chocolate aroma that hits you as soon as you walk in. The staff were super friendly and patient, walking me through all the different options and even offering a couple of recommendations.
This is probably the worst place to go to if you do not like nuts. I hate nuts and they put nuts in everything and don't disclose it. Granted, I do not need the facility to be nut free, I am not allergenic, but as I said, I do not like nuts. I hate nuts more than anything. Today marks my third time in a row going to this place and picking something up that is not disclosed to have nuts in it. It's frustrating. So for the people who work at Rocky Mountain Chocolate in Pickering Town Centre: PLEASE DISCLOSE IF A FOOD ITEM HAS NUTS IN IT. Not all people who are not allergic to nuts like nuts. Why is that so difficult to do? $10 chocolate dipped brownie going in the trash because I do not eat nuts. This is insane. I'm sure if I bought a chocolate dipped marshmallow, they would find a way to sneak nuts in there too. Like I don't think asking for them to say the kind of browning/cookie/chocolate etc. is a lot.. there's a huge difference between a chocolate dipped brownie vs a chocolate dipped walnut brownie.
Bought cookies today for my birthday. There was no signage that the cookies had nuts in them. I bought 4 different kinds. All 4 have nuts in them. Very disappointed. Just wasted $30. I called the store twice before they closed as well hoping to at least be able to exchange the cookies I didn’t open with something else within the same day, but no one responded. I’m so disappointed. My sister had gone there and bought these amazing cookies and there were no nuts in hers. She shared them with me so I thought they were the same cookies. I wish I had known they had nuts. I’m not worried about the cookies being made in a nut free place as the allergy isn’t severe, but there are whole pieces of nuts. It sucks. :/
Noticed a difference in the products in last 2-3 weeks, the apples are way smaller and don't test as fresh. Everything seems not as fresh as it once was. Purchased an apple and didn’t give me a bag after i asked for a bag. ( I think this place has new ownership) probably wont be back.
The gentleman who owns this place is a gem! Very kind, courteous and has gone above and beyond to help me put together some gifts for this holiday season. Their chocolate and candy apples are incredible as well
Pickering location. The Indian Lady was so sweet and patient with me as i had so many requests on the order of candy apples for the kids. She cut and bagged each one without complaint. Amazing service, fresh product.
Love the candy apples. Chocolate products were amazing. Great selection. Service was awesome. My dentist is going to be really sad that I found this place.
