Hello, I normally don't write reviews for poor service and workmanship. However, Mr Ds has proven to be the worst mechanic in the Durham area. I use to love going to this place but now I'm sorry to say but absolute garbage overpriced service with no basic knowledge. I brought in my car for work, the labor was charged beyond reason. See invoice attached. After 2 to 3 months of driving on the overpriced work. A noise came up. I brought it in as it was from the same area. They alleged it was a shield making noise under my car. They removed the shield and removed my e-brake component saying it will fix my problem. The work took 10 mins, they did me a favor by charging me 30 mins labor at $75.. Note: I waited longer in the waiting area as the staff were in the back, talking. 10 mins work, 30 mins labor and I waited for 15 mins watching them do nothing. Worst part is, I paid the $75 hoping my problem was resolved., the noise instantly came back within 5 mins of leaving thr shop. What did I pay for? Absolutely nothing. Mechanics are lacking knowledge, customer service, and they price gouge and take advantage of people. Would never recommend. Would rate 0 stars if possible. Save yourself the headache and take your car anywhere else. And ontop of that they didn't even call me for a quote on the axles they claimed that needed to be fixed.
Called this place for an oil change at 10am. Person asked to come in at 1:00 pm. When I got there they made me wait for 45 mins and then upon keep asking they said can you come back at 4 as everyone is busy. Very dissatisfied. This place used to be good and I used to come here all the time but since they changed locations and new guy sits at the front l. It is a nightmare of an experience every time. Highly not recommended!!!!
My husband had a leaking tire and they were able to fix the tire right away on a busy Saturday. Service was fast, efficient and affordably priced. Definitely recommend their service
Honest and reliable. This ain't jiffy lube you come to talk to them and have your car fixed you negotiate and make things happen. They are fair and reasonable. Just don't think you can drop your car off and disappear interact with them and ask them questions. They are good guys.
They have serviced my wheels and tires at a reasonable rate with decent customer service in the past. This time I brought in a steering knuckle to have a bearing pressed out and a new bearing pressed in. I was quoted by Mr.D between $50-$75, if there were any complications he would let me know. 4 hours later I receive a call that it is ready to be picked up to find out the bill is $100 and no invoice was provided or even generated to justify the additional cost. Mr.D himself left prior to me picking it up and I was told by his coworker that if someone else quoted me they would’ve upheld the price. Absolutely despicable customer service for someone who uses their services frequently. This may stop me from returning here be aware of this when having your vehicle quoted for repairs.
Called Mr.D's Auto looking for an engine block and quote. They had asked for all my specs and VIN#. Said they would call back in about half hour for a proper quote once he finds a block. Boss man of course never got back to me all day. Thanks.
Edit- I haven't been here for years. The last time I needed an oil change and they forgot a gasket. Good thing I went to my mechanic shortly afterwards bc oil was leaking everywhere. It seems they may have inexperienced workers who are unsupervised. Be careful and check your car after you take it here. Yo Steve is a cool dude - just such good vibes. Went here for an oil change and will be back again :)
