Just had David and Stephan in to install my countertops and backsplash and it looks awesome. Great job and very happy. Rockwood Kitchens Pickering has been great to deal with starting with my designer Natasha, then to Zinga and Jimmy who delivered the cabinets, followed by Damian the installer who does fantastic work. The whole Rockwood team has been the best to work with and all in a friendly and professional manner. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality kitchen products and top notch workmanship.
Words can’t express the joy I feel when I look at my new Rockwood Kitchen. Tommy and his team made this the best experience I ever had working with contractors. Their patience, genuine kindness and expertise made my kitchen everything I wanted and more. Thank you Tommy and the Rockwood Kitchen Team. I can’t wait to work with them again.
Our experience with Rockwood wasn't ideal. The sales and design process went well enough but the install - not so much. The cabinets are of highly questionable quality, at least in terms of their assembly, see pic of Rcokwood cabinet (woodgrain interior). I can't quite understand how in the year 2022, anyone can make stuff this poorly. It's like it's hand cut and assembled by a failing high school shop student. Contrast this with the Ikea cabinets which we were removing, and you see they are all laser-straight and airtight seams (pic of cabinet with white interior). Keep in mind the Ikea stuff was assembled and installed by me, and I'm nobody's idea of a good carpenter. Yet I seem to have done a better job than Rockwood. Rockwood's cabinets - not a straight and true joint anywhere. Then there's the "dovetail joinery", see other pic, red circle. Rockwood made a big deal about showing us this in their showroom. And indeed, in the showroom unit, the dovetail is perfect. Yet in the ones installed in our house, the dovetail is doing absolutely nothing to hold the cabinet together. It's those big metal brackets (circled in green) doing all the work. So why waste time cutting panels with dovetail joints if they don't contribute anything to the cabinet structure? Another mystery. In my opinion, it crosses a line into bait-and-switch when there is such a difference between the ones on display and the ones you receive. We ordered a tall pantry with 5 pullout drawers. One of them was so off-level it was plainly visible. It should never had made it out of the factory like that. Rockwood's installer did correct it, but still... Rockwood's drawer slides....not even close to Ikea quality. Our Ikea drawers require one light pull and they roll all the way open. Similarly, one gentle push and they close all the way. Rockwood's you have to drag all the way out and push all the way back in. The installer wasn't booked for a sufficient amount of time, some miscommunication between him and Rockwood. This then precipitated a 6-week ordeal involving 4 additional installer visits, missing/mis-ordered pieces, etc. Twice during the process, after designs were finalized, Rockwood had to add in some required trim/filler pieces (that the designer had missed) and felt comfortable charging us extra for. Something we didn't appreciate. It was only a few hundred $ but still....their oversight, they should have owned it. The quote had been finalized. Lastly, the warranty. Ikea warranties their cabinets for 25 YEARS! Rockwood - 1 year. We never asked during the purchase process, our bad I guess. We did pointedly ask later, during the install process, what would they do if their cabinets disintegrated and fell of our walls at 13 months, and they claim they wouldn't leave us on the hook, which is great, but doesn't address what they would do if it was 2 years, or 5. I certainly think we have the right to expect a new kitchen to last longer than that and be warrantied. The warranty doesn't suggest a lot of faith in their product. On the good side - we did throw them a bit of a curve ball with one facet of the installation, and they were good enough to work with us on that. And the cabinets do look nice, now that they're in and completed. But overall I can't recommend them.
Despite COVID-19, Emily from Rockwood Kitchens worked with me to get my small condo kitchen renovation completed in March 2021. Emily and the whole team were great - from design and selection of materials to measurements, installation, and final touchups. She and the team were professional, quick to respond, and knowledgeable. I faced a number of challenges and they assisted throughout. One of the best customer service experiences I have had. Though it's a small space, the whole kitchen now looks modern, bright, and clean. I have already received a lot of compliments and have already referred Rockwood to friends. Thanks Emily and the Rockwood team for your amazing service and customer care.
We LOVE love love our new Rockwood kitchen! Emily did such an amazing job designing the layout and helping us pick out cupboards that worked for our small kitchen. Her knowledge and attention to detail were invaluable in bringing this reno to fruition. Couldn't have done it without her. Thanks Emily!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! At first we thought we just wanted to change our countertop and from there it grew into a full kitchen reno. With the insightful guidance of our Rockwood designer Emily, we easily made our way through the process until all the hard decisions were made. Once it was time to install, Emily handed it over to Damien who “made magic” in our kitchen to the point where it was no longer recognizable. There are still times when we walk into our new kitchen and wonder "is this really our house?" Professional, creative, meticulous, and affordable. The Rockwood team surpassed our wildest expectations. Thank you Rockwood!
I am very happy that I chose Rockwood Kitchens to help with my new kitchen. My designer, Brenna Forsythe, came up with a plan that included all I had asked for plus some things that I hadn't thought of that are now my favorite features. The cabinetry is high quality and the employees that I met were all very professional. I can recommend them to anyone looking for a new kitchen.
